Birth Doula
In the book , Mothering the mother : how a doula can help you have a shorter, easier, & healthier birth ​​ (Klaus, Kennel & K​laus), the use of a doula during childbirth has shown:
- 50% reduction in cesarean births
- 25% shorter labors
- 60% reduction in epidural requests
- 40% reduction in oxytocin use
- 40% reduction in forceps delivery.
Services Offered
Available prenatally: 2-3x to discuss childbirth options, history & ideology of birth, unlimited phone calls & emails, 1 meeting with your healthcare provider.

Available during intrapartum joining laboring momma at home or hospital when mutually agreed upon staying until breastfeeding initiated & bonding established.

Available postpartum for a 3 day visit to discuss birth experience, normal newborn behavior, & breast feeding relationship providing postpartum herbal tea & bath herbs. A two week check up also provided to discuss postpartum health & nutrition need for the new mother.

I am available to host momma/mommy blessings,also known as blessingways. In a culture where the momma is honored and authentically cherished, a momma blessing is held. The focus is on the momma and her journey, her initiation into becoming mother. Whereas baby showers are usually filled with gifts for the baby, the momma blessing is full of a spirit of gratitude, reflection, & honor. It is a sending forth of the momma to journey among other women that have gone before her, those that will go with her and those that will journey after
The postpartum time for a new family -generally after birth to about 4 months- is a period of huge adjustment. As your postpartum doula, I am available in increments of 3 hour time blocks immediate postpartum to 4 months postpartum to educate on newborn care, inform family members on nurturing the mother, breast feeding education, role adjustment.

As a postpartum doula, I will also provide an emotional space for mommas as they experience normal hormonal cascade. In addition, I can provide self-assessment screening tools for moms providing referrals and support groups as necessary.

My role as a postpartum doula will work toward fostering independence to the new family as each member adapts to their new role- brother, sister, father, mother. Each role creates a new relationship dynamic.
Other duties I can perform as a postpartum doula include errands, light housekeeping, carpooling for older siblings, meal prep. It is such an honor as a postpartum doula to watch success and self-confidence grow for new families as the need for my services diminish. 


Making a belly cast is usually done in the last weeks of pregnancy. It is such a privilege to preserve such a miracle. The belly cast is a 3D reminder of all the changes that took place during nine of months of growing your baby. Women paint them and use them as decor for a daily visual reminder of all that your body underwent to spring forth life.
